Driving home from Sacramento the other day, I saw a field of sunflowers by the side of the freeway, and decided to take a short detour off the next exit to see if I could find them.
If you have never seen a field a sunflowers, they are a sight to be seen. The plants are about shoulder height, and the heads of the sunflowers are as big as pie plates.
A whole field of them facing away from the noonday sun.
I kinda want to put little faces on their big pie plate heads …
I wish I had decided to stop weeks earlier when they were much more colorful. Now that I know where it is, I will do so next year!
