It looks a bit like art to me, the lines that are created as water is drawn down in a reservoir. On this day when I visited Boca Dam, the effect was quite surreal.
Boca Dam is a flood control reservoir in the Sierra Nevada Mountains up above Reno. It was November when I visited, so the reservoir was drawn down to make room for high flows.
